William Clyde Smith arrested in Tulsa County school barn thefts

Tulsa County deputies arrested William Clyde Smith after a theft at the Charles Page ag barns, recovering stolen school equipment while a suspect remains wanted.

William Clyde Smith is jailed in Tulsa County following a burglary investigation at Charles Page High School. Deputies recovered stolen agricultural equipment and are searching for a second wanted suspect.

Surveillance cameras recorded two people taking equipment around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, authorities said. The incident happened at the school ag barns near Highway 97 and Shell Creek Road.

The stolen items included several pieces of property:

  • A flatbed trailer
  • A stock trailer
  • Tools
  • Livestock blowers
  • A generator

Authorities reported finding one stolen trailer on a rural property in Sand Springs on Thursday, Oct. 8. Investigators then obtained arrest warrants for Kayte Nora Owens, 30, and Smith, 40.

Deputies arrested Smith on Saturday in Creek County. The arrest followed a chase with a stolen motorcycle, deputies said.

Smith was booked into the Tulsa County Jail. He faces charges of Grand Larceny and False Impersonation After Former Conviction of a Felony.

Authorities recovered the missing stock trailer and remaining items Monday from a Sapulpa property. The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office returned all the stolen property to Charles Page High School.

Deputies continue searching for Owens. A warrant remains active.

County sheriff offices investigate property crimes across unincorporated areas and manage county jail bookings. Investigators routinely process recovered property before returning it to local school districts.
