Donnie Anderson presents OBN check to Oklahoma D.A.R.E. officers association

In Oklahoma, Donnie Anderson delivered an OBN check to the state D.A.R.E. Officers Association to help fund youth drug prevention and officer training.

Donnie Anderson delivered agency funds to support youth drug prevention across Oklahoma on Monday. The contribution aids officer training to teach students ways to resist dangerous substances.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics gave the check to the Oklahoma D.A.R.E. Officer’s Association. The funding supports drug training, education and awareness for state residents. The money will help officers prepare for classroom visits.

Instructors teach children tools to resist alcohol, drugs and high-risk actions. Anderson praised the organization for its work with children.

“D.A.R.E. Officers have helped save countless lives of young people by steering kids away from paths of abuse and addiction,” said Anderson. “Every student who hears their message stands a greater chance of overcoming the pressures and temptations from their peers.”

OBN serves as the state dangerous drug control agency. Law enforcement groups often partner with school programs to provide community prevention resources.

Staff from both groups will visit Oklahoma classrooms later this month. They will host Red Ribbon Week events. These sessions urge young people to make healthy choices.
