David Holt confirms Oklahoma City talks for first Buc-ee’s location
Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt confirmed active talks to open the state's first Buc-ee's travel center near Interstate 40 and Cimarron Road.
Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said officials hold active talks with Buc-ee’s to open a store. The travel center would mark the first location for the chain in Oklahoma.
The proposed site sits near Interstate 40 and Cimarron Road in west Oklahoma City, according to Holt. New infrastructure is necessary to open the store there.
The Oklahoma City Council approved an agreement on Tuesday. The deal involves the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the development company that works with the chain.
The agreement connects directly to the required roadway and utility updates for the site. City leaders regularly review road agreements to support commercial growth.
Holt gave no timeline for an opening date. He said Oklahoma City looks forward to welcoming the chain to the state.
