Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence opens 2027 Academic All-State applications
Applications for the 2027 Oklahoma Academic All-State awards are open for high school seniors, honoring 100 top public school students with $1,500 prizes.
High school seniors across Oklahoma can now submit entries for the 2027 Academic All-State program. The annual contest honors one hundred public school pupils for scholarship, leadership and community service.
“Academic All-State represents all the good that’s happening in Oklahoma’s public schools,” said Elizabeth Inbody, OFE chief executive officer. “By celebrating these outstanding students, we encourage others to strive for academic excellence and reinforce the importance of public education in our state.”
Each chosen student receives a $1,500 cash prize, a medal and an honor cord. Honorees may invite an influential teacher to join them on stage.
The 41st annual Academic Awards Celebration happens May 8 in Oklahoma City. The ceremony will take place at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Applicants must write an essay. Candidates also need two recommendation letters. Qualified applicants must meet one of three criteria:
- Composite ACT score of at least 30
- Combined SAT evidence-based reading & writing and math score of at least 1370
- Selection as a National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalist
An independent committee of civic, business and education leaders chooses the honorees. Past program recipients also help evaluate submissions.
The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence operates statewide programs to recognize public school achievement. The independent organization partners with communities across Oklahoma to support academic growth.
The final application deadline is 5 p.m. on Dec. 1.
