Tulsa to hold annual Trash Bash cleanup event on Oct. 24
Tulsa will hold its annual Trash Bash cleanup event on Oct. 24 at McClure Park, giving residents a free site to drop off unwanted household items.
The City of Tulsa will host an annual disposal program on Oct. 24. Local residents can safely drop off unwanted household items at no cost. The public effort will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McClure Park (7448 East 7th Street).
Participants must bring a driver’s license or a current utility bill. The City said these documents verify proof of residence. Only residents of Tulsa qualify to drop off goods. Commercial businesses cannot participate.
Each driver must unload their own vehicle into the refuse containers. The City said staff members will not help unload items. Containers include seven 30-cubic-yard bins and three 20-cubic-yard bins. Four paper shredding carts will also be open. Space is first come, first served.
An electronic waste truck will gather devices at the park. Workers will collect items such as televisions, laptops and computer monitors. Appliances will also be accepted this year.
The City shared a list of items that workers will not take:
- Yard or green waste
- Tires
- Roofing materials
- Building materials
- Air conditioners
- Commercial waste batteries
- Car parts of any kind
- Paints of any kind
- Animal carcasses
- Poisonous, radioactive or hazardous materials
- Chemicals
Municipal cleanup programs allow communities to discard residential waste. These public efforts direct discarded property away from local roads. Tulsa conducts these drop-off services to process standard domestic refuse.
Staff will close the site at 1 p.m. on the designated day.
