Daniel Solomon sentenced to 40 years for Tulsa child abuse

A judge has sentenced Daniel Solomon to 40 years in prison for Tulsa child abuse and child neglect convictions following a blind plea in court.

A judge sentenced Daniel Solomon to 40 years in prison for Tulsa child abuse crimes. Solomon must serve at least 85 percent of the prison term before he can seek parole. The punishment resolves his recent criminal case.

Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler posted about the conviction. Solomon had entered a blind plea to the charges. The court found Solomon guilty of Child Abuse by Injuring, Torturing, or Maiming.

The court also found him guilty of Child Neglect. The judge gave him 40 years for abuse. He also received 40 years for neglect. Both prison terms will run concurrently in Tulsa.

A blind plea submits a case to a judge without an agreed sentencing deal from prosecutors. Oklahoma law requires people convicted of certain violent crimes to serve mandatory prison time before parole hearings.

Solomon remains subject to the state prison system under the concurrent Tulsa sentences.
